Around Hotel Schloss Gabelhofen.

After arriving at our hotel, which I introduced in my last holiday blog post, we want to stretch our legs and head out for a walk towards Fohnsdorf.

My favourite person, Che, Murphy and I turn left at the hotel, cross a charming wooden bridge over the romantically snow-covered Pölsbach and stroll past the Aqualux Therme. We wander through the houses, and when we reach the main road we turn around and trudge back through the deep snow to the thermal spa.

G'schlössl Castle Park.

As my in-laws have already stayed at the G'schlössl twice, they show us the hotel's beautiful castle park. Spanning 18,000 m², it is home to plenty of wildlife and winds romantically along the Mur.

Murphy is torn between the scent of wildlife, Donna the girl dog, and snowballs ;)
Che is mainly interested in the spots dug up by wild boar, while Donna simply enjoys the scenery with us.

The Spielberg Ring.

Since we're already in the area, we want to check out the Red Bull Ring as well.
So off we go – to the place where the Formula 1 cars race in summer.

The two Frenchies are allowed inside with us and admire the exhibits right alongside us. They're also welcome in the café (see the photos below – heated tiles!!) and in the restaurant, from where we can watch the cross-country skiers and snowmobiles go by.

The bull is everywhere, like a red thread running through it all. "Austria's most beautiful playground" truly has a lot to offer in terms of activities and entertainment, for young and old alike.

Hofwirt in Seckau.

For a bite to eat, we can also recommend the Hofwirt. Dogs are warmly welcome there too. As it's right next to the Benedictine Abbey of Seckau, you can easily combine both into one outing. Donna loved the Hundereise with Che & Murphy! And so did we.
