A month ago, on 17.07.2020, our "blog baby" — by now more of a "blog toddler" — celebrated its 3rd birthday. There was no post at the time because I was right in the middle of redesigning the Hundereise website.

Looking Back on the Past Year

The past year was all about personal growth. In late spring 2019 I left my salaried office job and immersed myself in web development.

Since the beginning of 2020 I have been self-employed together with my business partner Nina under the name Webjuwel.

Further training, learning, and building a business took time and brainpower. That meant the muse for blog writing wasn't always in great supply.

Since autumn 2019, Martina with her Galgos Atlas, Tiago and Neroli has no longer been part of the Hundereise team, for personal reasons. That's also one of the reasons things have been quieter around here.

Hundereise's New Website

On 3 August the big moment arrived and the new web design of Hundereise could finally be unveiled.

To make things easier for you, dear readers, the menu has been expanded and reorganised.

For example, you can now filter by holidays in Austria or Europe, and under Everyday Life you'll find posts on topics such as health, grooming, animal welfare, enrichment, and everyday stories.

The Who We Are page has of course been redesigned, and there's also a brand-new page where I recommend Partners & Friends of Hundereise.

Dog Holidays in Corona Times

This year we haven't taken a Hundereise yet. As you all know, the Corona crisis makes things a bit complicated, summer is just too hot for us, and on top of that Archie is suffering from a grass allergy.

At first his tummy was affected, which has since healed. Right now his paws are still the main concern. We're on the right track and improvement is in sight — but for a while walks were only possible on smooth asphalt, because even the tiniest pebble caused him pain.

Whether we'll take a dog holiday with Murphy and Archie in autumn we'll decide spontaneously, depending on the Corona situation and Archie's health.
