An eventful year is almost over. There were highs and lows, sad farewells and exciting new arrivals, wonderful holidays and lovely day trips.
Today we'd like to look back on 2018 with you!
January
Early in the year we had our second studio shoot with Paul Croes and Inge Nelis.
You can see the stunning photos that came out of it and read all about what a shoot day is like in this blog post.

February
In February my friend Dukati, her dog Bono, Che and I headed out on a wintry hike up the Schöpfl in the Wienerwald, Lower Austria. You'll find all the details and photos from that trip HERE.

March
In March, my favourite person, his parents and I took a short break at Schloss Gabelhofen in the Styrian Murtal. Che, Murphy and Donna came along, of course, and thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the elegant inn.
In Part 1 we tell you about the accommodation, and in Part 2 about day trips worth taking in the area.

April
From A for eye cleaning to Z for teeth brushing.
In this post we shared our tips on grooming and care for dogs.

This month saw the first blog post from Martina go live. Why you should get used to having a Galgo permanently on the sofa, and what else to bear in mind when this Spanish sighthound moves in with you — Martina shared it all in this post.

In mid-April we sadly had to let our darling Che cross the Rainbow Bridge.
One of the hardest yet most heartfelt pieces I have ever written.

A spring weekend in the Wachau with Murphy helped distract us a little from the loss.
The awakening nature did its very best to give us something else to think about.

May
In early May the "Galgo in Not - Austria e.V." spring festival drew us to Biedermannsdorf.
The post is guaranteed to be full of action shots of many speedy sighthounds!

In mid-May Team Hundereise went on holiday in the lush green Steiermark.
Around the Präbichl we did trips to the Grüner See, the Leopoldsteiner See and Radmer. You can read all the details HERE.

At the end of the month we visited the Hundetag in Baden and found out more about canine sport for all. What we discovered and everything there was to experience at the fair is just a click away.

June
We joined in solidarity with the Great Global Greyhound Walk in the Lobau (Vienna) to raise awareness of the British sprinter's suitability as a pet.

Atlas tells his story: his Spanish past, his journey to Austria and to Martina. And then he even starts training to become a therapy dog!

Just before the summer holidays, the first Bully and Pug meet-up took place in Baden bei Wien. Murphy and I were naturally there — love story included.

July
We spent our holiday in the beautiful Pielachtal (also known as Dirndltal), Lower Austria.
Murphy & pug-friend Vincent show you around the Steinschalerhof and share which day trips are worth doing there.

On 17 July the moment had come. We celebrated our first blog birthday! And said THANK YOU ;)

Team Hundereise went on a hike up the Peilstein (Wienerwald, Lower Austria). You'll find the full trail details in this post.

In July we visited the Salzkammergut for a long weekend. In Part 1 we tell you about the wonderfully welcoming accommodation, the Nussensee, the Langbathseen and St. Wolfgang. In Part 2 we share more about the Katrin Alm, the Golfplatzrunde and the Schwarzensee.

At the end of July Murphy and his buddy Zeus went hiking in the Höllental (Rax area, Lower Austria).
It sounds more dangerous than it is. You do need to be sure-footed, though. A refreshing dip in the Schwarza is very much possible.

August
At the end of July and beginning of August, Martina was in Italy with Atas, Tiago and Neroli for a holiday.
You can read exactly where the three Spanish greyhounds took the beach by storm in this blog post.

During the big heat wave we shared 7 tips for keeping your "Cool Dogs" cool.

In mid-August we went on a family day trip to Tierpark Herberstein.
Since dogs are welcome there, Murphy came along, of course.

A traditional-dress wedding brought Team Hundereise back to the Salzkammergut at the end of August for a second visit. While Martina was serving as maid of honour, I went hiking with the four boys along the Randobach. In the days that followed, we walked together around the Gosausee and along the Traunsee.

September
And inspired by that traditional-dress wedding, we wondered whether Dirndl and dog actually go together?

At the end of September we spent our main holiday in Istria/Croatia. Murphy, my favourite person and I tell you all about the wonderful day trips we took and where we stayed in Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

October
Bibi clarifies whether Boston Terrier puppy June ("our cousin") really is never allowed on the sofa — and I also had a few tips on house training for you.

We made the most of the golden autumn for a hike in the Bucklige Welt. This time the Galgo boys Atlas, Tiago and Neroli were joined by Murphy, Nina and me.

November
Team Hundereise hit the road together once more. This time we headed to Germany to visit "cousin" June and Bibi in the area around Nürnberg. We describe the wonderful accommodation in more detail here, and you're very welcome to read about our hiking trails too.

At the end of November, Archibald (known as Archy) moved in with Murphy, my favourite person and me.
The blog post about it is coming in 2019 ;)

December
And in the last month of the year, a Christmas post was simply not to be missed.
So here's a poem about "Murphy and the 3 Galgos from the East"!

We wish you and your furry companions a wonderful start to a healthy and loving New Year 2019, from the bottom of our hearts!
